Indiana governor to address Alabama GOP

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Indiana Gov. Mike Pence will be in Alabama in June.

Pence is scheduled to speak at the Alabama Republican Party's Summer Dinner on June 20 in Birmingham.

State Republican Party Chairman Bill Armistead calls Pence a rising star of the party who might become a presidential contender in 2016. Armistead says Indiana has cut taxes and expanded school choice since Pence was elected governor in 2012.

The dinner on June 20 will be followed by a meeting of the State Republican Executive Committee the next day.
