As part of efforts to redevelop a portion of Market Street near downtown, city crews cut down trees in front of the Chattanooga Choo Choo and buildings across the street. The work Thursday is the next step in revitalizing the historic block of Market Street. The plan is to rebuild the sidewalk and install on-street parking, which will help create economic development opportunities for that area, according to Lacie Stone, spokeswoman for Mayor Andy Berke.
