MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Police say a 10 year-old Memphis girl who was shot in the head by her 13-year-old brother has died.
Authorities said police were called to a home Monday and were told that the girl had been hit in the head with an object. Officers then discovered that the girl had been shot, and she was taken to a hospital in extremely critical condition.
Memphis police spokeswoman Alyssa Macon-Moore said today that the girl has died.
The boy, who is not being identified because he is a juvenile, was charged Tuesday with felony reckless endangerment and unlawful possession of a weapon.
It is not immediately known how the boy got the gun. Police are still investigating.
