• UTC freshman Teghan Henderson had a second successful day at the Southern Conference Track & Field Championships on Sunday in Spartanburg, S.C. A day after winning the 10,000 meters, Henderson topped the podium in the women's 5000 meter with a time of 17:00.62. Also for UTC, Iman Isang finished third in the men's 110 hurdles with a time of 15.38 seconds, and he, Geoff Nelson, Marquis Carter and DeQuantez Sandiver took fifth in the men's 4x100 relay. Harry Smithers was fourth in the men's 5000 meters at 15:01.73, and Lucas Cotter finished fifht in the men's 1500 meter at 3:58.34.

• Sewanee's Willow Smith earned double all-conference honors in the SAA track and field meet at Conway, Ark., with a second-place finish in the women's 10,000-meter run Friday and a third-place 5000 finish Saturday. Sewanee's Cortez Brown was second in the men's 100 in 11.31 seconds after running the program's second-best time ever with a 10.98 in the prelims. Another Tigers runner-up was Amiel Emerson in 1:57:02 in the men's 800.

Golf

• Calhoun's Cres Dodd and Cartersville's Greg Johnson won the the 2014 Georgia Four-Ball Championship golf tournament that ended Sunday at Cartersville Country Club, where both Dodd and Johnson are members. They combined for a 20-under-par 196 for 54 holes. Calhoun's Chad Wilson and Woodstock's Alex Jones and Chatsworth's Chase Jones and Tyler Mitchell tied for third at 16-under 200, while Dalton's David Noll Jr. and Atlanta's Cameron Hooper finished in a tie for eighth at 202.

• Winchester's Jess Voorhies and partner Gary Pierce of Franklin finished second to Mike Nixon and Mike Patton of Nashville in Tennessee's Super-Senior Four Ball Championship on Saturday at WindRiver Golf Course at Lenoir City. Nixon and Patton won 5 and 4. Voorhies and Pierce won 2 up over Chuck Parker Sr. of Nashville and Dennis McNeal of Mount Juliet in the semifinals. Danny Green of Jackson and Steve Golliher of Knoxville repeated as the Senior Four-Ball champions.

• Sewanee's Alison Eleey and Emily Javadi finished first and fourth individually at 227 and 233 in the Southern Athletic Association women's golf tournament Sunday at Chateau Elan Resort at Braselton, Ga. Two of Javadi's former Baylor School teammates, Alyssa Brown of team runner up Centre and Kaleigh Toole of Birmingham-Southern, finished 10th and tied for 22nd at 239 and 258. Rhodes won the team competition wiht a total score of 947.

Baseball/Softball

• Lee University closed out Gulf South Conference diamond sweeps against visiting Christian Brothers teams Sunday with a 1-0 baseball victory and an 11-0 softball win. Dustin Lawson, Grayson Bailey and Derrick Pitts combined to pitch a three-hitter for the baseball Flames (30-17, 15-12), and Andres Nelo was 3-for-3 and scored the run on Zacary Hawkins' first-inning double after his own. Angie Hughes and Hannah Hight combined on a five-hitter for the Lady Flames (23-22, 12-14), and Lizzie Stevens was 2-for-2 with two doubles and four RBIs, Meg Macias hit a three-run homer and Ana Coscorrosa scored three runs. Amanda Lynn had three stolen bases, giving her 26 for the season, and scored twice.

• The Sewanee baseball season ended Saturday with a 6-3 loss to Millsaps in the SAA tournament in Birmingham. Sewanee (12-26) went ahead in the fifth inning with an RBI single by Jack Whaley and a two-out, two-run hit by Zack Sutton, but the Majors (22-17) got one back in the bottom of the inning and added two runs in the sixth and three in the seventh. Tony Dykes was 2-for-4 for the Tigers.

Tennis

• The Sewanee tennis teams both won SAA championships Sunday at Old Fort Park in Murfreesboro. The 20-3 women beat Berry 8-1; the Sewanee men (14-6) defeated Birmingham-Southern 5-0.

Lacrosse

• The Sewanee lacrosse teams split SAA finals Sunday against Centre College, the Sewanee men losing 11-10 at home on a goal with three seconds left but the Sewanee women (13-6) winning 11-8 at Danville, Ky., as Mallory Grimm had three goals and an assist and Katie Riddle, Ella Richardson and Sally Anne Greenwood each scored twice. Chattanooga's Audrey Powers scored two goals for Centre (16-3), and fellow GPS alumna Sarah Mastey had a goal and an assist. Matthew Stiefel and Hayden Byrd had three goals apiece and Tommy Healy made 13 saves for Sewanee's guys (12-4); Baylor graduate Patrick Vaughn does face-offs for Centre (13-3).

Football

• The Tennessee Train won 26-21 in their Women's Football Alliance game Saturday night at Daytona, Fla., and are 3-1 going into this Saturday's 7 p.m. game at Hixson High School against the Jacksonville Dixie Blues.

• The Chattanooga Locomotion take a 0-2 record into their Independent Women's Football League game Saturday at Red Bank High against the Carolina Queens after losing 47-6 this past Saturday to the Carolina Phoenix in Durham, N.C.
