Dalton State assistant injured, fiancee dead in car wreck

Dalton State assistant basketball coach John Redman has been hospitalized after being involved in a serious car wreck in Atlanta on Monday night, according to a release from the school.

Redman and his fiancee Brittany Huber were on the way to Mobile for their wedding this weekend. Huber was killed in the crash.

"Our thoughts and prayers are with her family at this impossibly hard time," Dalton State athletic director Derek Waugh was quoted in a release from the school. "She was an amazing person who was loved by all who met and knew her."

According to Waugh, Redmon was rushed to Grady Memorial and was unconscious when paramedics arrived. He had head injuries, broken ribs and other fractures but was able to move his extremities, according to the release.
