UPDATE: Chattanooga police identify victims of deadly Amnicola Hwy. crash

One person died and two were injured early Sunday morning in a single-car crash at 2100 Amnicola Highway.

Police arrived just before 2 a.m. and found three people trapped in a car that had struck a telephone pole, Chattanooga police confirmed.

The driver, 33-year-old Gilbert W. Payne, and front passenger 41-year-old Brandi Wright, have non-life threatening injuries.

Rear passenger 44-year-old James Hewitt was pronounced dead at the hospital.
