Man in critical condition after duplex fire, flown to burn center

A man seriously injured in a Chattanooga duplex fire this morning has been flown to a burn center in Augusta, Georgia.

66-year-old Allen Smith is listed in critical condition and is headed to the Joseph M. Still Burn Center.

The fire happened at a duplex at 2103 Daisy Street shortly after midnight, according to a news release from the Chattanooga Fire Department.

Two firefighters found the man unresponsive near the rear of the building and carried him out.

One of two pet dogs died in the blaze. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
