The music library of the late Dr. James Greasby will be sold in the lobby of Memorial Auditorium on Thursday and Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day.
The late musician bequeathed the collection to the Chattanooga Music Club with his desire that it be sold as a fundraiser for the organization. Greasby served as president of the club in 2001-2002.
Greasby was organist/choirmaster of several Chattanooga churches, founded the Chattanooga Bach Choir and was a music teacher and faculty member of Cadek Conservatory of Music at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.
Included in the library is piano music of all types, organ music by numerous composers, music teaching materials, choral works, handbell music, books, hymnals, records, CDs and reel-to-reel recordings.
