Update: Police allow people to re-enter Republic Centre in downtown Chattanooga

As of 3:55 p.m. Chattanooga Police have cleared the Republic Centre building at Seventh and Chestnut streets and are allowing people back inside building.

The Republic Centre building was evacuated after an unknown person called-in a threat.

The caller said there were multiple explosives n the building and the property manager opted to treat the call as a creditable threat. Police responded at 2:20 p.m. and they have no suspects at this point, according to Assistant Chief Eric Tucker.
