A 16-year-old Cane Ridge High School student died today after he was thrown from the hood of a car in the school parking lot earlier this week.

Metro Schools officials said the incident "appears to be a tragic accident" stemming from horseplay between friends.

Police investigating believe that Haljuer Hassan jumped onto the hood of a Honda Civic driving through the Cane Ridge parking lot after school Monday. He fell off the hood and hit his head.
