SMYRNA, Tenn. - A central Tennessee man facing multiple sex-related charged involving a minor is being sought after police say he cut off an ankle monitor and skipped town ahead of a court date.
Smyrna Police Chief Kevin Arnold says 39-year-old Edward Tarras missed a court date Friday in Murfreesboro and likely fled the state.
Investigators believe Tarras may be headed to Montana or Wyoming and has friends and relatives in Florida and New Jersey.
He is charged with rape, sexual battery of a minor and especially aggravated sexual exploitation of a minor.
Arnold described Tarras as 5'08" and weighing approximately 200 pounds. He has brown hair and a light beard and may to keep his head and face shaved.
