MEMPHIS - Memphis police say a man shot and killed his 6-year-old daughter and his 24-year-old son before turning the gun on himself during a domestic dispute.

Memphis Police Director Toney Armstrong told The Commercial Appeal that the 43-year-old father also fired on police officers before shooting himself. The suspect was taken to Regional One Health in extremely critical condition where he later died.

Police say 6-year-old Luptia Gomez, 24-year-old Gustavo Gomez and the alleged shooter, 42-year-old Abel Gomez, were killed.

One officer was injured by debris. The child's mother, along with another child, escaped.

Officers were called to the house at about 5 p.m. Friday and found the man involved in an argument with a woman outside the house. Armstrong says the man entered the home and started shooting.
