Nashville-based singer/songwriter Matthew Smith, a founding member of the Indelible Grace community, will be joined by a full band to present a concert of old hymns set to new music at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 24, at Brainerd Presbyterian Church, 1624 Jenkins Road. Born out of a college ministry, Indelible Grace has since drawn acclaim in the church at large and is used across denominational lines worldwide. The reimagined hymns join together those who want to honor the traditional texts with those desiring a modern musical approach. Smith's latest album is "Hiding Place," whose 12 tracks include "Wayfaring Stranger," "Rock of Ages" and "O How I Love Jesus." Tickets are $8 in advance, $10 at the door. They may be purchased online at www.bpcepc.org (click on Matthew Smith Concert). For more information, call 423-899-2424.
