Tennessee pain clinic co-owner sentenced to 39 years

KNOXVILLE — A 63-year-old Maryville woman has been sentenced to serve more than 39 years in prison for drug and money laundering offenses connected with the Breakthrough Pain Therapy Center, which she co-owned with her husband.

The charges against Sandra Kincaid came after a 2010 raid by local and federal agents that resulted in the seizure of prescription narcotic pain pills, firearms and nearly $700,000 in cash.

According to the U.S. attorney's office for the Eastern District of Tennessee, Kincaid was convicted at a jury trial in October 2013.

Also convicted in the scheme are Kincaid's husband, Randy Kincaid; her son, Dustin Morgan; and her daughter, Wendi Henry.

U.S. Attorney Bill Killian said in a statement that Kincaid's lengthy sentence was due to the seriousness of her crime.
