Four-run third leads Chattanooga Lookouts over Jackson Generals

JACKSON, Tenn. — Corey Seager had RBI doubles in the third and fourth innings as Chattanooga cruised to a series-opening 7-3 Southern League baseball win Friday night against the Jackson Generals.

The Lookouts improved to 29-30 and moved to within two games of the first-place Tennessee Smokies in the Southern League's North Division.

The game was scoreless with two out in the second inning when Chattanooga's Alex Liddi drew a walk, Jeremy Hazelbaker had an RBI double to right field and Noel Cuevas singled to left to drive in Hazelbaker.

With one out in the third inning, Scott Schebler walked, Daniel Mayora singled to left and Seager doubled to center. A Chris O'Brien sacrifice scored Mayora, and Liddi and Hazelbaker singles made it 6-1. Mayora and Seager doubles made it 7-1 an inning later.

Game two of the five-game series is tonight at 7:05 EDT. Nick Struck (4-6, 5.46 ERA) is the scheduled starting pitcher for the Lookouts, with Cam Hobson (8-9, 2.92) scheduled for the Generals.
