Horn appreciates quick response and other letters to the editors

Horn Appreciates Quick response

I would like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank the police department for its quick response to the alarm that was set off on a recent Tuesday morning at Westview Elementary and for the quick apprehension of the man who vandalized a beautiful school, forcing it to be closed for the day. This despicable action caused the loss of a day of education for our children as well as frustration and a sense of violation for the teachers and administration.

The ripple effect of his destruction certainly caused much angst for our working parents in the community. Although it took him a relatively short time to do so much destruction, we are fortunate he was apprehended quickly or it could have been catastrophic.

Also, thank you to all of the folks from the different service teams at the Hamilton County Department of Education. The men and women as well as the teachers worked tirelessly into the night to put the school back into operation so that the children could return Wednesday morning. Please take the opportunity to show these folks your gratitude.

Cook's Theology Not In Tune With God

In response to David Cook's recent column, "Domestic Partner Theology," I would suggest we look to God's holy word. When there were only two people on planet Earth, one man and one woman, God said, "Therefore shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall cleave unto his wife, and they shall be one flesh" (Genesis 2:24), thus instituting the proper sexual relationship God designed for all humanity for all time in the marriage relationship. Romans 1:26-32 plainly states homosexual acts are "unseemly," "reprobate" and will be judged by God. Jesus said in Matthew 19:4-6 that marriage sanctioned by God is the union of one male and one female.

Surely we know Jesus "did no sin" (1 Peter 2:22), so he would not have sanctioned a union that transgresses the will of almighty God. May God bless each one of us as we follow his holy word and live our lives according to its unsearchable riches.

God loves all people, but he does not love any sin. That is why he sent Jesus to shed his blood to wash away our sins. Please read, study and obey God's word.

Act Like A Man To Become One

To black males: You want to be treated like a man? Act like one. Go to school and graduate. Eat a good breakfast to be on your toes in school. Do not play hooky.

Do your homework. Go to bed early; don't roam the streets at night. Honor your father and your mother. Do not drink, smoke, lie, cheat, steal or make bad friends. Go to church. Make good friends. Do not be discouraged. Keep a positive outlook on life.

Marry and have children in wedlock. Be a good role model. Get a good job, advance yourself whenever possible. Spend money wisely -- stay in your means.

Buy or rent in a nice area. Go to school to advance yourself on the job.

Do not feel sorry for yourself. You are what you are. Strive and achieve. Then you are a man!

William Greer of Hixson wrote: "God loves all people, but he does not love any sin. That is why he sent Jesus to shed his blood to wash away our sins. Please read, study and obey God's word.

Let's take a closer look at this God.

"God loves all people." He's loves them so much he murders innocent men, women, and children throughout the Bible.

"but He does not love sin." Except when he commands His followers to murder, take slaves, force virgins into sex, and allows His chosen ones to have incestuous relationships. God gets a free pass for His sins.

"That is why he sent Jesus to shed his blood to wash away our sins." What sins? The sin of being born? Guilty by birth? So God sent Himself, to die for himself, to be resurrected for himself, to worship himself. Sounds like Jehovah has a big ego problem.

"Please read, study and obey God's word." Please do read and study the Bible, all of it. It's as contradictory as Jerry Falwell in drag and twice as funny when you realize the incredible BS you've been taught as real is all puffery, fiction, and nonsense.

But obey it? Which part? About killing witches, smashing babies on the rocks, stoning disobedient children? There's so many idiotic commands it's hard to know just who to kill first! So read the Bible, the whole Bible. No skipping all the boring begatting either. Apparently God's old men like screwing their slaves, concubines, and young girl captives. Like Warren Jeffs but without the magic underwear.

Here's to a great day without your gods, saviors, and Christian guilt.

kiwi is sillier than ever this morning. that's because it starts drinking the booze and smoking the bud early on week-end mornings...note the spelling, etc. Mr. Greer, you have now joined the ranks of "god's special agents," of which there are many here in the Chattanooga area. That includes all the jack-leg, self-annointed preachers, pastors and what evers, with no credentials or credibility. I would like to see you present your credentials in journalism before you take on an award winning writer who knows what he is saying, and says it very well. Perhaps he is like many of us who have read that book, studied it, and made our own decisions,as free persons should. In terms you might understand,"When I was a child,I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man,I PUT AWAY CHILDISH THINGS." 1 Corinthians 13:11. I have yet to locate the Book of Greer.

kiwi: you really are a hater and a racist. Please seek professional help before your head explodes. For you, Pearl, excellent advice that should be given to all children by all parents...I would add to join the Boy Scouts of America and the YMCA, to help them develop a moral compass...since they are getting no direction in that area at HOME or at SCHOOL. Have them avoid the "Ki School of Morbid Jargogle," at all costs.

And what does that make you, who can't resist responding?

83% to 84% of all whites killed or murdered were at the hands of other whites. But you'll never hear the term white on white crime. used.

Who can resist you, kiwi, you are so easy? I also pointed out that you are a hater and a racist. Thank you for having the courtesy not to deny that. I did not mention CRIME of any kind. That seems to be on YOUR mind. Easily understood though ... another symptom of the syndrome demonstrating your need for professional treatment. I heard DR. ORR is doing charity work.
