Highway 58 carjacking suspect sought

A suspect is wanted by the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office for a reported carjacking that took place at the 58 Mart located at 8909 Highway 58 on Sunday.

The victim said he was sitting in his truck at the 58 Mart when a white male opened the door, pulled him out of the truck and drove away in it, according to a news release.

The thief fled the 58 Mart and traveled north on Highway 58 in the stolen vehicle, leaving another stolen vehicle that he had been driving in the store parking lot, the release said.

The suspect is Richard David Dillard, 20, from Bradley County, Tenn.

Felony warrants have been obtained for Dillard and include carjacking, felony reckless endangerment and felony vandalism. Dillard also has active felony arrest warrants in Bradley County.

Dillards’ current location is unknown, and the sheriff’s office is requesting anyone with information regarding his whereabouts to contact the Sheriff’s dispatcher at 423-622-0022.
