Chattanooga man charged in shooting of 15-year-old on Taylor Street

A Chattanooga man has been charge with attempted murder in the shooting Tuesday of a 15-year-old boy on Taylor Street.

Terry Marshell Smith, 19, is also charged with aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a firearm during a dangerous felony, according to Chattanooga police.

A 911 call at 7 p.m. Tuesday reported shots fired in the area of 3200 Taylor St., police said in a news release. A few minutes later, the 15-year-old victim showed up at a local hospital with a gunshot wound to the shoulder. His wound was not believed to be life-threatening, police said.
