Officials: Atlanta officer opens fire after being cut in Woodruff Park

ATLANTA — Police are responding to an officer-involved shooting in downtown Atlanta.

Atlanta Fire Department spokeswoman Janet Ward tells the Atlanta Journal-Constitution that an officer was cut Wednesday around 4 p.m. by a person with an unknown object and then opened fire. Police spokesman John Chafee said no officers were shot at the scene near Woodruff Park.

No information was available on the unknown person's condition.
