U.S. 27 narrowed to single lane tonight

Traffic will be narrowed to a single lane overnight on northbound U.S. Highway 27 between the Olgiati Bridge and the Manning Street Bridge.

A single lane will be open from 7 p.m. today to 6 a.m. Friday so contractors can implement a traffic realignment, Tennessee Department of Transportation spokeswoman Jennifer Flynn said in a news release.

Also tonight and overnight, contractors will be demolishing the overhang forms on the new U.S. 27 ramp bridge over Dayton Boulevard.

Dayton Boulevard will be closed to traffic coming from Red Bank. Traffic will be detoured onto Manufacturers Road and Cherokee Boulevard. Traffic traveling to Red Bank or Signal Mountain Road from the Stringer's Ridge tunnel will be restricted to one lane with expected delays, the release stated.
