Orbitz site keeps airlines

Orbitz says it reached an agreement that will allow it to continue selling American Airlines and US Airways tickets on its sites. The Chicago company added that tickets previously bought on its sites are still valid.

On Tuesday, American and US Airways pulled flight listings from Orbitz sites as part of a dispute over the fees Orbitz charges to list and sell the flights. American said it had already dropped its fares and that US Airways would do the same on Monday. Corporate customers would have still been able to book travel through Orbitz, but individuals would have had to go to the websites of the airlines or Orbitz' competitors.

Toyota incentives reached $107 million

North Carolina was prepared to offer Toyota up to $107 million worth of incentives to lure the automaker's North American headquarters to Charlotte, documents obtained by the Charlotte Observer show. But in April, the state lost out to Texas, which offered less money but benefited from other factors, such as direct flights to Japan.

Toyota's North American headquarters, which the company moved from California, would have come with 2,900 high-paying jobs. Not having incentives to offer "takes us out of the game," Charlotte Chamber of Commerce President Bob Morgan said.
