Brewers Festival benefits Kids on Block, Community Kitchen

What: The Southern Brewers Festival in downtown Chattanooga marked its 20th anniversary by expanding to two days. Thousands of visitors listened to music by seven bands, and sampled their choice of more than 100 beers served up by 45 breweries.

Benefits: Chattanooga Kids on the Block, Chattanooga Community Kitchen.

Cotton Ball honors past queens, kings

What: The Scepter Party was held recently at the home of Dr. and Mrs. Wayne Tipps on Lookout Mountain. The cocktail party honors past queens and kings of the Chattanooga Cotton Ball, the annual debutante ball that is also a fundraiser for several local nonprofits.
