After their teams secured national championships last Saturday in Kissimmee, Fla., Lee University's Kathryn Healy from Chattanooga and Notre Dame High School and David Perez from Northwest Whitfield were named the National Christian College Athletic Association Division I soccer student-athletes of the week. Healy, a senior forward, scored in three of the Lady Flames' four matches at Kissimmee and was voted the most outstanding offensive player of the women's tournament. Perez, a sophomore, scored in each of the fifth-seeded Flames' four wins and had the winning goals in the semifinals and final. He was the most outstanding player of the men's event.

Volleyball

• Lee senior middle blocker Lauren Williams is a 2014 NCCAA volleyball first-team All-American. She helped lead the Lady Flames to six wins in their final seven matches against Gulf South Conference competition, and she led them for the season with 247 kills and 77 blocks. She had 16 kills in 17 attempts against Mississippi College, and that .941 attack percentage broke the .875 school single-match record held since 1998 by Katrina Chatfield. "I am so proud of Lauren and the great year she enjoyed," Lee coach Andrea Hudson said in a website posting. "Lauren played as a freshman on a team that competed in the final four of the NAIA tournament and last year helped our team reach the final four at the NCCAA nationals."

Wrestling

• Through no fault of their own, the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga wrestling Mocs dropped a notch from No. 19 to No. 20 in the latest NWCA coaches' poll. The Mocs last wrestled a dual meet on Nov. 15, when they went 3-0 at the Eastern Michigan Duals, and they last competed Nov. 22 at the Navy Classic, which they won. They'll open their home season Friday against Purdue, which is listed among the teams receiving poll votes. In the latest InterMat national dual team rankings, Purdue is ranked No. 23 and UTC No. 24. In the latest individual rankings, the Mocs' Sean Boyle is No. 19 at 125 pounds and Nick Soto is No. 14 at 133.

Basketball

• Sophomore Jorden Williams from McCallie School hit five 3-point baskets and scored 25 points as Sewanee beat visiting Covenant 77-64 in NCAA Division III men's basketball Tuesday night. Keshonn Carter had 17 points and eight rebounds, Marcellus Caldwell had nine rebounds and Jacob McCullough had five assists for the Tigers (3-3). Colton McGriff scored 17 points for Covenant (1-6).

• Hannah McCormack had 17 points and five steals and Kayla Sewell contributed nine rebounds, six blocked shots and six assists as Sewanee won 66-38 in women's basketball Tuesday at Covenant. Rebekah Faulkner and Jamie Chauvin scored 11 and 10 points for the Tigers (7-1), while Haley Soles had 14 points with four 3s for Covenant (0-7).

• The Tennessee Wesleyan women's basketball team improved to 11-1 for the season with a 77-64 win Tuesday at Talladega College.

• Hiwassee's junior varsity ended the Georgia Northwestern men's basketball team's five-game winning streak with a 71-67 defeat Monday in Madisonville, Tenn. GNTC's Bobcats (5-5) trailed 50-35 with 10:24 to play but tied the score at 55 before falling. Devin Watkins had 18 points and 10 rebounds for the Bobcats before leaving with an ankle injury. Veshawn Bell and Cameron Sherlin scored 17 and 16 points, and Dustin Stanley grabbed 15 rebounds.

Swimming

• Sewanee freshman swimmer Meghan Mulhern won the women's 500-yard freestyle by four seconds in 5:10.05 on Saturday and the 1650 free by nearly a minute in a school-record time of 17:46.10 Sunday in the Transylvania Invitational meet at Lexington, Ky., and she, Ashley Krueger, Carolyn Rice and Caty Hueske were second in the 800 free relay. Sewanee's Brian Glatt won the men's 200 free and was second in the 50 and 100 frees, and David Boclair was third in the 3-meter diving with teammate Charles Boclair III third in 1-meter. Grace Cobbs was third in the women's 3-meter. Hueske was third in the 200 backstroke, and Erin Neil was third in the 200 and 100 butterfly races. Sewanee's men were third out of six teams, and the Sewanee women were fourth.

• Marshall University freshman Mikaya Reynolds from Hixson and Baylor School finished fourth in the women's 100-yard breaststroke, fifth in the 200 individual medley and seventh in the 200 breast in last weekend's Zippy Invitational swimming and diving meet at Akron University. She also swam the second leg in two fifth-place medley relays; Marshall set a program record in the 400 medley relay and was third out of 10 teams in the meet.
