Authorities were searching for Parker on Saturday night in connection with the slaying of Robert McClure, 24, following an incident that occurred at 1334 Hixson Ave. off Norcross Road.

Chattanooga police are investigating the case but a spokesman could provide no new information Sunday.

Records show Parker has a criminal background. He previously pleaded guilty to aggravated burglary charges and received a four-year sentence.

Parker also has appeared in Hamilton County General Sessions Court on 11 driving-related charges since 2008, including a DUI in January 2012 to which he pleaded guilty.

He is currently being held without bond and is set to appear in court Feb. 11 at 8:30 a.m., according to jail records.

East Ridge charges three with burglary, kidnapping

East Ridge police charged three people with aggravated burglary and aggravated kidnapping Friday.

Summer Burkhart, 23; Clara Binkley, 43; and Terry Butts, 42, are scheduled to appear in East Ridge City Court on Feb. 11 after a man told police they robbed him, according to a news release.

The victim told police that Burkhart asked for a ride to Waverly Motel, a request that he obliged. But upon arriving at the hotel to drop Burkhart off, the victim said the trio forced him into a motel room at knife point and demanded money.

After the victim gave them all of his cash, they traveled to an ATM machine so that he could withdraw additional cash. When the assailants left the scene, the victim contacted police.
