Man convicted of attempted murder counts in shooting spat at Knoxville hooker's house

KNOXVILLE - Jurors had little sympathy for Adam Franklin Moates' story that he fired gunshots at a trickster prostitute's home because he was fearful and upset.

A panel Thursday convicted Moates, 22, of five attempted murder counts in Knox County Criminal Court in which authorities say the prostitute, her boyfriend and the boyrfriend's mother were victims, among others.

Sentencing will come later.
