ATLANTA — Power outages have risen sharply during the morning hours today as ice began coating trees and power lines.
Georgia Power reported that nearly 90,000 customers were already without power by 10 a.m. today.
More than 65,000 of them were in metro Atlanta.
Another 23,446 customers were in east Georgia, many of them around the Augusta area.
Nearly 2,000 customers were without power in the Macon area.
