Home Depot hires for spring

The Home Depot is planning to have 80,000 jobs open for this spring, including 60 more people in Chattanooga, the Atlanta-based retailer said Thursday.

Despite the cool temperatures still lingering across the nation, the world's largest home improvement retailer is already gearing up for spring. The retailer said students, retirees, veterans and reservists are encouraged to apply for the jobs at careers.homedepot.com.


Finalists picked for Chamber honors

The Chattanooga Area Chamber of Commerce announced the finalists for the Small Business Awards to be presented on March 19 at the Chattanooga Convention Center.

Office Furniture Warehouse, RMJ Tactical, LLC and Yogi's PrimoPromo are finalists for companies with under 20 employees. Airnet Group Inc., JHM Certified Public Accountants and Southtree Digital Media are finalists for employers with 21 to 50 employees. Chattanooga Allergy Clinic, Chambliss, Bahner & Stophel, P.C. and Marion Environmental Inc. are finalists for employers with 51 to 200 employees. Finalists for the nonprofit organization of the year are Friends of the Festival, Girls Inc. of Chattanooga and The Trust for Public Land.
