Tommy L. Barron Jr., of Trenton, Ga., was found dead inside his prison cell at the Walker County Detention Facility Monday morning, according to Walker County Sheriff Steve Wilson.
Barron was the lone occupant of the cell and evidence suggests he used a bed sheet to hang himself. was being held on a parole violation and burglary charges from the Dade County Sheriff's office.
At the request of Wilson, the GBI is investigating the death. Barron's body will be transported to the GBI crime lab for an autopsy.
