BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — Sherriff's officials in the Birmingham area say a man stopped a suspected burglary at his neighbor's home by blocking the neighbor's driveway.
Sheriff's deputies were called to the home by the neighbor Thursday afternoon. The neighbor noticed an unfamiliar car in the driveway, called the homeowner and then blocked in the suspected burglar's car by parking his own car at the end of the driveway.
A 19-year-old man was arrested and charged with burglary and theft of property. Items including a chain saw, air gun and nail gun were returned to the homeowner.
Sheriff's spokesman Randy Christian says the suspect is being held in the county jail on $10,000 bond.
