Several road closings planned in Chattanooga

The Chattanooga Transportation Department has announced some roads in the Chattanooga area will be closed Saturday to accommodate events.

They include:

- Reggie White Boulevard, from Main to West 20th streets, westbound West 20th Street, northbound Riverfront Parkway, eastbound Riverside Drive from Chestnut to East Second streets and westbound Riverside Drive/Riverfront Parkway from Lindsay Street to M.L .King Boulevard, will be closed. The southbound inside lane of Riverfront Parkway and 20th Street will be closed from King Boulevard to Reggie White Boulevard.

- The Veterans Bridge south bound exit ramp will be closed. Power Alley and Chestnut Street from West Second Street to Riverfront Parkway, the outbound inside (left) lane of Riverside Drive from East Second Street to Latta Street/River Terminal Road, the right curb lane of East Third Street from High Street to Walnut Street, Walnut Street from East Third Street to the north end of the Walnut Street Bridge, the eastbound curb lane of Frazier Avenue from the north end of the Walnut Street Bridge to the Veterans Bridge, will be closed from 5:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for the Scenic City Half Marathon and Charity Challenge. There will be temporary delays at Battery Place and Mabel Street, the Mabel Street exit ramp from Riverside Drive, the Bluff View Arts District and Frazier Avenue ramp to the Veterans Bridge.

Police personnel will be posted in these areas to reduce traffic congestion and delays as much as possible. Some streets may open earlier depending on the duration of the event. Northbound Riverfront Parkway between Main Street and King Boulevard will be open by 9 a.m.

- The 1300 Block of West Fort Street, West 13th Street, from Fort Street to Market Street, and the southbound curb lane of Market Street between West 13th Street and the entrance to the Chattanooga Choo Choo will be closed from 7:30 to 10 a.m. for the ConNooga parade.
