Chattanooga City Council unanimously votes to approve the first reading of Mayor Andy Berke's pension reform.

The vote is the first of three that will usher in changes to the firefighter and police officer's pension and is estimated to save the city $227 million over 26 years.

"This is an important moment for this council and for our city," Berke said.
