Tuesday, February 25, 2014

The Sevier County mother who tried to set her infant son on fire was sentenced to eight years in jail with the possibility for parole after serving 30 percent of the term, 4th Judicial District Attorney Jimmy Dunn said.

Becky Eury, 33, went back to jail following Tuesday's hearing in front of Sevier County Circuit Court Judge Rex Ogle, the prosecutor said.

"She had some arguments, but the judge overruled her arguments or didn't believe them and he sentenced her," Dunn said. "I think that is the correct sentence."
