KNOXVILLE - A 60-year-old University of Tennessee employee has been identified as the motorist whose rolling car trapped her against a Fort Sanders parking garage wall Monday morning.

Phyllis "Sally" Carter, a supervisor in the UT College of Law Library, was found dead about 5:57 a.m. in the garage in the 1700 block of White Avenue. Carter, of Maryville, had worked at UT since 1979.

"Sally was a treasured and valuable member of the law school community who contributed so much to make the College of Law a better place," College of Law Dean Doug Blaze said in a statement. "She will be sorely missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with her entire family."
