Mexican restaurant Taqueria Jalisco announced today it will open a second location this spring with a lunch-oriented restuarant in Miller Plaza on the east corner bordering Cherry Street.

Serving a similar menu as their Southside location, Taqueria Jalisco will be open to the lunch crowd along with select nights for dinner, including when the 2014 Nightfall Concert Series starts in May.

Jorge Parra, operator of Taqueria Jalisco, said "the second storefront came from demand.

"Our Southside location is small and we want to be able to serve everyone that wants to dine with us," he said. "This second location allows us to expand our service and keep the friendly and intimate atmosphere we and our customers enjoy."

The River City Co., owns and operates Miller Plaza and will lease the space to Taqueria Jalisco.

"Taqueria Jalisco is the right tenant for the space," said Jim Williamson, vice president of planning and development at River City Co. "It's a quality food choice that will bring people to the area and supports local business. Attracting this type of tenant is an integral part of making City Center a place people want to be round the clock."
