A January house fire in Woodville, Ala., has been ruled arson and a man has been charged, according to the Jackson County Sheriff's Office.

The Woodville Fire Department battled the Jan. 27 fire at a house on County Road 8 and firefighters were suspicious of the cause, the release stated. The Jackson County Sheriff's Office and the Alabama State Fire Marshal's Office investigated and discovered that accelerants were used to start the fire.

Based on the investigation, Joshua Patrick Turner, 23, of Woodville, was arrested Thursday on a charge of second-degree arson and booked into the Jackson County Jail on a $25,000 bond.

The release didn't state a motive for the crime.
