The task was almost complete but Penn State was in need of a couple of individual titles to secure its fourth straight Southern Scuffle championship.

Headed into Thursday night's medal matches, Cael Sanderson's Nittany Lions had 177 points to 149.5 for second-place Minnesota. Oklahoma State was at 142.5, Cornell at 100.5 and Missouri at 95.5.

Host University of Tennessee at Chattanooga was in 16th place with 34 points and one medalist in 133-pound Nick Soto, who was set to wrestle for third place.
