Seth Eichenthal dies in accident in Austria

Seth Eichenthal, the son of Chattanooga’s former chief financial officer and the head of Girls Inc., died in Mayrhofen, Austria in an accident.

Eichenthal, son of David Eichenthal and Bea Lurie, was a 2008 graduate of the Chattanooga School for Arts and Sciences. In 2012, he earned a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Virginia. This year, he earned a master’s degree in structural engineering from the Imperial College of London. He spoke at least three languages, according to his LinkedIn page.

While at CSAS, Seth Eichenthal was Tennessee's high school campus coordinator for Barack Obama.

David Eichenthal, who worked for former Mayor Bob Corker as finance director, served as president of the Ochs Center and before joining Public Financial Management (PFM), a consulting company. Bea Lurie, who leads Girls Inc., is widely known and respected for her work empowering girls to fulfill their potential.
