Hamilton County's finance administrator, Louis Wright
Hamilton County Finance Administrator Louis Wright is bowing out after a 38-year career.
County Mayor Jim Coppinger said Friday that Wright, 63, informed his staff that he would be leaving the county in the coming weeks.
Coppinger said Wright would be sorely missed, but he more than deserves a good retirement.
"He served 38 years here, and he's been instrumental in securing the finances in Hamilton County for a number of decades," Coppinger said.
Coppinger credited Wright with helping the county attain and keep a AAA bond rating from all three major rating agencies.
"I think myself along with all of the citizens of Hamilton County should be proud of his accomplishments over the last few decades," Coppinger said.
A definite retirement date has not yet been set, but Coppinger said Assistant Finance Administrator Albert Kiser would fill Wright's position when he left.
Kiser served as the lead finance man for the county after Wright was hospitalized in February and out of work for months.
"Al is more than capable of stepping up in that position and we are glad to have him," he said.
Wright also will continue to serve on the Water and Wastewater Treatment Authority board as the mayor's appointment, Coppinger said.
