about Clay Bennett...

The son of a career army officer, Bennett led a nomadic life, attending ten different schools before graduating in 1980 from the University of North Alabama with degrees in Art and History. After brief stints as a staff artist at the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette and the Fayetteville (NC) Times, he went on to serve as the editorial cartoonist for the St. Petersburg Times (1981-1994) and The Christian Science Monitor (1997-2007), before joining the staff of the ...

Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of God. 1Corinthians 6:9-10.

Conservative,

Taking what you posted as a scriptural truth, and I don't necessarily disagree with you on the consequences, how do you rationalize in your own mind the truth of Genesis 1:26 which says, "『Then God said, "Let us make man in our image, in our likeness,"…So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.』

If we are created in God's image, then how do you explain the existence of homosexuality and effeminate behavior in men and lesbianism in women? Did God create them just to be condemned by His judgment?

You see, this is the thing I cannot put together in my own mind. Our information is not perfect. We have to take some things on faith.

How do you explain women who are genetically male? Jamie Lee Curtis is a famous and graphic example of male genetics taking on a female form. How do you explain Downs Syndrome?

Try this one on for size.

Matthew 7:1-3 King James Version (KJV) 7 Judge not, that ye be not judged.

2 For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.

3 And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?

Personally, I watch the stuff that comes out of Hollywood and the media with the same attitude I use while viewing cat videos on the internet. Amusing, maybe, and interesting, maybe, and sometimes even instructive, maybe, but my NATURE does not cause me to have any interest in emulating the behavior of those Paul called out in 1 Corinthians 6:9-10.

People have free will to accept Jesus or not. Those who seek him and accept the Holy Spirit will be changed and transformed as surely as was Saul transformed into Paul on the road to Damascus. Paul was the living example of spiritual conversion.

Nobody is beyond redemption. That's the lesson. You can tell people they are going to Hell all day long, but it's never going to be heard like the "still small voice" of God when he speaks to the heart.

Problem is, NH, they want the straight population to be 4%. Their playground is still very limited but growing rapidly: New Census Bureau Data Shows Growth in Same-Sex Couples Outpacing Population

October 2010

Williams Institute analyses of newly released data from the 2009 American Community Survey show that the estimated number of same-sex couples who identified themselves as either spouses or unmarried partners increased at three times the rate of population growth from 2008 to 2009. The estimated number of same-sex couples in the US was 564,743 in 2008 and grew to 581,300 in 2009, marking a nearly 3% increase. The US population only increased by approximately 1% between 2008 and 2009. Other findings from the newly released data show evidence of a disproportionate effect of the economic downturn on same-sex couples, particularly male couples, relative to their different-sex married counterparts. http://williamsinstitute.law.ucla.edu/research/census-lgbt-demographics-studies/new-census-bureau-data-shows-growth-in-same-sex-couples-outpacing-population/

The rainbow hat may be suggesting the diversity of the country instead of, as some have concluded, to gay. Once gay marriage is approved why not accept polygamy and intra-family marriage? Marriage of heterosexuals of the same sex will happen just for benefits and to participate in the discrimination of married against singles that now exist.

The push for a state issued marriage license has nothing to do with love, it is greed and the financial benefits, primarily in the tax codes, that are provided those that are married. It does bring with it the complications of a divorce. Commitment, loyalty and other attributes of a good marriage do not require a license and are not enhanced by a license.

He said it was “well documented” that Iran was a state sponsor of terrorism, accused Iran of fighting a proxy war against the United States in Iraq and questioned why Iran has refused “to adhere to the international standards” of disclosure for its nuclear program.

If you truly believe that, then you believe that you could be persuaded to become a homosexual too.

Homosexuality is not an act of indoctrination or a choice. For if it were, then each and every one of us would sit down at some point and make such a decision whether to be straight or gay.

Everyone is attracted to what they are attracted to, and that attraction comes very early in life. That which we are attracted to does not change throughout one's life.

"I could really care less about this issue, if a man wants to discontinue his blood line and marry a man fine with me but don't try to recruit our elementary age school kids with such blatant nonsense as......"Little Johnny 2nd. Could you be any more ignorant? Hmosexuality is not taught in schools. Tolerance and acceptance for them is.

"And people I've got to ask, what parent other than Clay Bennett would be really happy about their son coming home and telling them that they are taking Joe to the senior prom?"

Any parent who loves their child unconditionally.

"what Mother is just delighted when their daughter has chosen Betsy Lou the truck driver as her "life partner"?"

Same answer. Now you? You'd probably be one of those parents who would kick their child out of the home, scar them for life, probably to the point that they would hang themselves.

"No folks, to each his own but just don't involve kids and I still say one of the saddest events to be invited to is a gay wedding."

Mandatory attendance of any wedding is not dictated. I'm quite sure that if someone were to invite you to such a wedding, and if you decided not to attend, I doubt you would be missed.

You're deeply confusing the issue of homosexuality with pedophilia and that is a mistake that only the most ignorant people make repeatedly.

3.) Ahmadinejad actually offered a surprising comment regarding human rights, even for homosexuals.

"Mr. President (George W. Bush), you exhibit all the signs of a petty and cruel dictator, and so I ask you, why have women, members of the Bahá'í Faith, homosexuals and so many of our academic colleagues become targets of persecution in your country?".."

"But if a Christian does not agree with the GLBT agenda the GLBT will demand they be censored."

Americans do not have any say-so as to what happens in Iran, but they do in this country, which does have a predominant Christian population, and everyone has a right to petition any grievance they desire in this nation, even unpopular ones from a minority stance.

Of course, when one disagrees with such minority petitions, whining about it, as well as outrageous accusations of ignoring how human rights are addressed in other nations is the usual response.

God is not quoted anywhere in the Bible condemning homosexuality. In fact, God's words are very few and far between about much, outside of his encounter with Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden, and with Moses to issue the Ten Commandments, and homosexuality is not mentioned in one of them.

Every single quote you will ever find in the Bible regarding the issue is a direct quotation of the men who are alleged to have written their opinion on the subject.

Why don't you dig down deep in that Bible and find a direct quotation of God or his Son condemning the homosexual to Hell.

You and I both know that the crickets will be chirping forever.

Everything in the Bible has context and you are forever citing passages stripped of that context and offering them up as your personal sacrifice to your Lord and Savior, and one day you will answer for it.

You have to acknowledge that humans are limited and not omniscient and omnipresent and are unable to create life to name a few and that God is Spirit and INVISABLE!

You could easily point out such an error by typing your understanding of the meaning of the word, but you never, ever address a charge you make.

Many people believe that God made us all based on what he looked like, but it could equally mean that God made us according to an image that he formed in his mind of how he wanted human beings to appear.

The fact is that there is no clear-cut definition that will ever settle the issue, because there is not enough information presented in the Bible by which to define the true meaning of the word "image."

While on the subject, I find it very interesting the choice of wording in Genesis 1:26, which begins with; "Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness..."

OUR IMAGE?

Who is this "our?"

Was there more than one God? Was there a Mrs. God? Did God create life on this planet, coming from another?

Or could this be yet another mistranslation of a word that should have been "my?"

Explain that one conservative.

For at least 4 decades, the percentage of homosexuality has been estimated to include all those who remain totally in the closet and in complete denial to publicly declare their homosexuality, is between 10-12% of the population of the world.

Depending on where one lives, between 3.8% and 6% are open about their homosexuality, when comfortable enough to do so.

I'm sure there is a solid number of people who are predisposed to being pedophiles, but you're not going to find very many people comfortable enough at any time to declare themselves as such to anyone gathering such numbers.

Hey...those aren't my words. Those are of the man himself.

Iran's record regarding prosecution or persecution of homosexuals is not as heinous as some depict it. Of course, homosexuals in Iran have much more to fear, but stoning and hangings are not routinely practiced there.

"How are gays persecuted by the right? Being against gay marriage hardly constitutes persecution."

There is absolutely nothing wrong with someone finding disagreement with gay weddings. What is wrong is when people band together to utilise the power of government to prevent anyone from seeking to live their lives in a free manner, so long as what they do does not in any manner affect the lives of those who do disagree with it.

Freedom also means to sometimes step aside and allow others to seek an alternative happiness that they do not necessarily disagree with.

Disagree all you wish, but that does not mean that anyone has any right to prevent that which they disagree or disaprove of.

In order to quantify that statement, you're going to have to demonstrate that the Government is paying for "everyone else's health care," and there is no evidence that this will be a reality when ObamaCare is fully implimented.

ObamaCare may have been passed without bi-partisan support, but that is not the same as using the power of Government to prevent something. It is a pro-active approach to reforming health care, above the heads of those who wanted to prevent such a reform.

Her's one violation for starters alpo:

Health care waivers

"The Department of Health and Human Services has granted nearly 2,000 waivers to employers seeking relief from Obamacare’s onerous regulations. Nearly 20 percent of these waivers went to gourmet restaurants and other businesses in Nancy Pelosi’s San Francisco district. Nevada, home to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, got a blanket waiver, while Republican-controlled states like Indiana and Louisiana were denied. Even beyond the unseemly political favoritism, such arbitrary dispensations violate a host of constitutional and administrative law provisions ranging from equal protection to the “intelligible principle” required for congressional delegation of authority to cabinet agencies. Unlike 17th-century English monarchs, American presidents were not granted dispensing powers: As we have seen, the power to suspend a legal requirement can and will be used to arbitrarily favor the politically connected. Moreover, most of these waivers were never authorized by Congress in the first place!"

That, alpo, is the government preventing something from a majority.

I do believe that if you will check, any and all waivers were made by the Department of Health and Human Services, which does indeed have the authority to offer them, and which does not have to consult with Congress before offering them.

Mr. Anthony Provancher:

This will get you started on the meaning of the word "image" of Genesis 1:26.

http://bibleanswerstand.org/trinity.htm

You asked: "Who is this "our?""

"Was there more than one God? Was there a Mrs. God? Did God create life on this planet, coming from another?"

"Or could this be yet another mistranslation of a word that should have been "my?""

Well, you don't have any idea because you are a nonbeliever. Your years of Mormon indoctrination have denied the Biblical doctrine of the Trinity, an essential doctrine of Christianity.

"Our" is a translation of a plural Hebrew noun. This is a reference to the Godhead and Trinity in Scripture.

You see, the Trinity is God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit, thus the plural "our."

Your Mormon cult as well as other unbelieving cults deny the Trinity.

Well as I confidently stated you will not and cannot give any proof of your false accusations.

Now you write gibberish to mask your failure. What does "When you point condemn anyone for their sins, never taking into consideration that they too may indeed seek redemption, which you would never be in a position to know a thing about, you hold yourself out to be superior to them" even mean?

You are obviously troubled by Homosexuality/sodomy so you keep making vain, fruitless attempts to defend it.

Mr. Bennett keeps pushing Homosexuality/sodomy and I just counter with God's word on the matter and you can't get it in your head that it is God who condemns you and not me.

Your contempt for the word of God has and continues to be obvious.

You can't refute God's word, so you lash out at me in your anger.

You only anger me when you blaspheme God.

You have a rough road ahead of you.

Who empowered you with insight to determine a man's soul or belief?

Your ignorance is only outweighed by your arrogance.

"Your years of Mormon indoctrination have denied the Biblical doctrine of the Trinity, an essential doctrine of Christianity."

Sir, I have pointed out many times that not all Christians embrace the Trinity theology.

Christianity emerged from Judaism, which is a monotheistic religion. Not once in the New Testament does the Trinitarian concept appear. But, this does;

Mark 12:28-32 - "28 One of the teachers of the law came and heard them debating. Noticing that Jesus had given them a good answer, he asked him, “Of all the commandments, which is the most important?”..."

"29 “The most important one,” answered Jesus, “is this: ‘Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one (ONE). 30 Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ 31 The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.”..."

"32 “Well said, teacher,” the man replied. “You are right in saying that God is one and there is no other but him (NOT THEM)."

""Our" is a translation of a plural Hebrew noun. This is a reference to the Godhead and Trinity in Scripture."

Do you realize how silly that is, considering that in Genesis, Jesus had not been conceived? You've just established the best argument for an imperfect and contrived Bible.

"You see, the Trinity is God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit, thus the plural "our."..."

I see. So your position is that all that is related in the Bible was never written in real time. It was all written well after the fact and therefore cannot be trusted to be accurate?

How insightful that is.

"Your Mormon cult as well as other unbelieving cults deny the Trinity."

I'm not about to apologize or feel an ounce of shame, from the likes of you, for my exposure the many religions I have been involved with.

Each has made me a much more rounded person when it comes to my personal religious beliefs and I have adopted something from them all. I have also rejected many facets of them all as well, for I am not someone who blindly believes what I am told to believe.

Your opinions about my religous beliefs are as bothersome to me as a fruit fly on a hot summer day.

"Mr. Bennett keeps pushing Homosexuality/sodomy and I just counter with God's word on the matter and you can't get it in your head that it is God who condemns you and not me."

Ah...now we're getting down to the REAL issue. You consider yourself to be someone empowered to speak for God. Who gave you that authority.

The Bible is NOT the word of God. It is the word of mortal men, like yourself, who also believe they were empowered to speak for God.

"Your contempt for the word of God has and continues to be obvious."

The day you prove the Bible to be the word of God, then we will find common ground. Your belief does not translate into anything resembling fact.

"You can't refute God's word, so you lash out at me in your anger."

Who's angry? Not myself. I merely present facts. You present sentences cut and pasted from a book, as if that is proof to anything but someone's written opinion.

I have asked you repeatedly to present once sentence attributed to God or his Son that condemns homosexuality, and you have failed to present any such sentence.

"You only anger me when you blaspheme God."

Your definition of blashemy also lacks factual content. I have never once offered a blaspheous statement into this forum. Do you even know what blasphemy is?

"You have a rough road ahead of you."

I'm sure if Matthew Shepard were alive, he would have a thing or two to say about what it's like to be a homosexual in this nation.

Almost everything you think you know about the Matthew Shepard narrative is false.

Thanks to a new book by an award winning gay journalist Stephen Jiminez we now know that much of this narrative turns out to be false, little more than gay hagiography.

As gay journalist Aaron Hicklin, writing in The Advocate asks, “How do people sold on one version of history react to being told that the facts are slippery --- that thinking of Shepard’s murder as a hate crime does not mean it was a hate crime? And how does it color our understanding of such a crime if the perpetrator and victim not only knew each other but also had sex together, bought drugs from one another, and partied together?”

According to The Advocate, one of the premier gay publications in the country, Jiminez “amassed enough anecdotal evidence to build a persuasive case that Shepard’s sexuality was, if not incidental, certain less central than popular consensus had lead us to believe.”

The agenda of the sexual left lives on lies. As we all know now, the back-story that brought us Roe v. Wade was a lie. And here we find the Matthew Shepard story was also a lie.

The sexual left approves of such lies because they get to what they consider to be an underlying truth. The author of The Advocate piece writes, “There are valuable reasons for telling certain stories in a certain way at pivotal times, but that doesn’t mean we have to hold on to them once they’ve outlived their usefulness.”

By AUSTIN RUSE

”Telling certain stories in a certain way at pivotal times .... Outlived their usefulness” .... How revealing.

Obama's now refreshed, having played his 160th round of golf in sunny Hawaii!

#1 on his agenda- To get the poor pissed at the rich so he can tax them into submission and continue his class-warfare mission.

The great divider is back in action! BSNBC has already got the talking-points from their general.

Yeah, like we didn't see THIS coming. Did you know that "global warming" is the cause for the deep freeze?

"NOAA scientists have suggested that warming temperatures in the Arctic may be responsible for the weakening of the polar vortex."

Unfreakin'believable

Here is a ruling part of the cheney family is cheering:

http://www.scotusblog.com/2014/01/court-stops-utah-gay-marriages/#more-203001

Shouldn’t everyone cheer the fact that we have the SCOTUS to intervene and stop lower courts that have possibly made errors in judgement?

And yes I am happy that they review court ruling that I agree with as I also know they will do the same for those I don’t. So you can save your effort in listing ruling I would probably disagree with .... O.K.?

Walt is a fictional character.

Here is the best thing I have read about your avatar character.

Albuquerque Journal, October 4, 2013 - Obituaries:

(Note: Not provided by family members)

White, Walter AKA "Heisenberg," 52, of Albuquerque, died Sunday after a long battle with cancer, and a gunshot wound. A co-founder of Gray Matter, White was a research chemist who taught high school chemistry, and later founded a meth manufacturing empire. He is survived by his wife Skyler Lambert; son Walter "Flynn" Jr.; and daughter Holly. A private memorial was held by his family. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a drug abuse prevention charity of your choice. He will be greatly missed.

The last two sentences and the mention of the gunshot wound are priceless in their unintended (?) hilarity

Excellent choice of an avatar to represent yourself to the public. Although I have little room to talk as mine is a mere shadow of my former and also present self.

Leave it to ole peg leg Alprova to throw down with the drama regarding this boring gay issue. Al commenting about my very true comment that very few parents are happy about their son or daughter coming out of the closet to declare themselves gay. Al said.....yea right you are the type of person that would MAKE their gay child go out and hang themselves.....boo hooo......sob....sob. No most parents would accept their gay child but they would not be happy about it. That is a true statement without emotion. As for suicide, a very narcissistic and selfish (it's all about me) act by the way, I don't think the stats are any higher in the rainbow population as compared to any other special interest group seeking minority status. As for pediphiles, Alprova, it will only be a matter of time until the GLBT wacky Democrat voting block will be GLBTP....Gay, Lesbian, Bi-Sexual, Trany, and Pediphile wacky pagan terrible childhood, geeks and freaks Democrat voting block.

Wow, glad I'm a rich, Johnny Black lovin, Cuban smokin, strip club goin, hetero, patriotic, Muscle car driving, Christian, hetero, Republican American. :)

Maximus, you're going to eat your words one day, that is if you are a parent, which I doubt very much. It wonder if you have the testicles to look your child in the eye and deny them your love for being gay.

If you are remotely the person you appear to be in this forum, you surely live alone, for no one could stand to be around you for five minutes.

Karma will indeed touch you one day. That I know for sure.

I don't expect that any one of us will ever know about it when it happens, because you will slink off into the sunset when it does.

Yep...I have one leg, but I will be getting a shiny new metal one in a few months.

The problem you suffer from does not come with a replacement. Your soul is in deep need of reformation.

I pray you find your way through the maze of life without any of the setbacks that you find so humorous to make fun of when you interact with others. You remind me why I am no longer a Republican/Conservative/A$$wipe.

Yep...I lost a leg. I consider it nothing more than another challenge by God to deal with, and I accept that challenge with a smile on my face every day.

Fire away with your pitiful, pathetic barbs. They bother me not for so much as a second, for I am twice the man you will ever be, and I am far richer than you, because I have friends and family who love me without condition, and who have assisted me through my latest ordeal.

Now I know you don't have what you claim to have, and you likely never will, but it's clear that you measure a man's success in terms of material wealth.

That makes you one of the saddest people I have ever encountered.

I'm sure it is, given that you are paying the bankruptcy court all of your disposable income, which means you are confined to your hovel 24/7/365.

I'll know when you have those debts paid off. You'll probably celebrate with a trip to McDonald's for a hot meal.

That will give some of us a half-hour break from your worn out keyboard.

Marriage is a law (and a religious rite) and that is a law that should be open to all Americans.

What secular purpose and governmental need is served by marriage laws that are not served by our rights to form private contracts between ourselves either implied or formally written?

Al, Peg Leg is just a friendly nick name just like Slim one of my 300+ pound employees. Al, again with all the emotion, just like a juvenile liberal Democrat. Again, do your own poll, 99.9% of parents would prefer that their kids NOT be gay. I have two kids, a boy and a girl. Neither are gay and we are very happy about that. Show me a Mother that is happy about their daughter bringing home a woman as their life partner and I will show you a very, wacky, leftist Democrat Mother unconditionally. I guarantee you, with few exceptions, most parents are very sad when their child decides to turn gay. Very few hetero Dads will be skipping down the street with their gay son when he comes home from college with his boyfriend Gatsby. No Alpo I think most of you Obama rainbow welfare voters want one thing......unconditional support from hard working tax payers. You should wear your peg leg as a bad boy badge of courage just like a pirate. This gay thing is boring.....I really don't give a crap but I do not think an employer like me should be required due to fed regs, affirmative action to be required to hire a certain number of gay people but THAT is exactly where we are headed.

Yea right Gaus you are lying. You over sensitized, bleeding hearts just can't accept the fact, parents are disappointed when their children turn out to be gay. I have no "feeling" about it, it's just a fact. Being gay is not viewed as being normal by most Americans. It is a fact. Live with it. And by the way, gays are not a race or a minority but that is where they want to go.....no question about it. And Gaus if you really know plenty of happy gay parents then you know and associate with a lot of gays. Do you drive a Prius, shop at Whole Foods, like shopping, like JT and show tunes? Then you need to tell your parents that you are gay. They won't be disappointed as long as you don't move back home. Lol!

Gassious, that may be true BUT i think ANY parent would rather their kids were straight than gay!I don't think any sane person would choose to be gay , that life would be hard to deal with IMO! No matter how tolerant we become they are ALWAYS gonna be outsiders and somewhat isolated to the gay community!

Jesse....when you tell a gay person that you are "tolerant" of their choice/lifestyle it pisses them off. FYI. They don't want tolerance, they want your acceptance of their lifestyle as normal or YOU are a trashy bigot. Another fact, the activist gays have gone way, way beyond tolerance to a RIGHTS march. It's coming folks, hire gays or else.

Jesse, I would rather my kid be gay and happy as to be straight and miserable. Would you rather your kid be gay and successful or straight and a bum? I do know one thing, if my kid grew up and acted like that douche Maximus, I would probably blow off my head.

Gaus....I'd go for the straight bum that refuses to take any form of government assistance. Have fun skipping down the street with your successful gay son Boy Gaus. Now dats funny.

Just telling the truth. Most parents are disappointed when their son or daughter goes gay. That is reality. Get over it. Move on. No being a successful gay as opposed to being a poor gay does not really take away the disappointment although there are not many poor gays due to their double income no kids demographic. Again the narcissistic selfish thing. Most gays don't have kids so they gaily travel the world unburdened by reproduction.

Indeed: 3.4 % of the Wicked is setting the tone in this country. The Militant power of this 3.4 % is astounding.

Let what is done in secret be proclaimed from the house tops. Un-natural sex is just that, Wicked and un-natural. If it is not, then NO other group that Clamors that "they were born" that way too--with Base and unnatural proclivities -- should be debased, mocked in open forums. There are 21 other sexual "orientations." If wicked men give into one, on what moral basis can they deny the others ??

caddy, I am sure you are doing your part to make sure that all Americans adhere to the following rules for "all natural sex":

Missionary position only, no birth control, no Viagra or Cialis, no sex toys, no sex except for procreation (not of childbearing age? No sex for you). Better keep it to only when she is ovulating. Don't want to waste it.

Might as well not allow epidurals and caesarian births either.

Cameras in every bedroom to make sure no one is cheating.
