BRUNSWICK, Ga. - Authorities say a 52-year-old Kingsland woman was killed and her husband suffered critical injuries in a four-vehicle crash near the Georgia coast.

The Brunswick News reports Renee Dowdy died Sunday when a pickup truck crashed into the back of her husband's car. Georgia State Patrol Trooper Rick Lester says the impact was strong enough to push the car into two other vehicles waiting in a turning lane of the Golden Isles Parkway in Brunswick.

Dowdy's husband, 50-year-old Daryl Dowdy, was air-lifted to a hospital in Jacksonville, Fla., where he was listed in critical condition Sunday night.

The driver of the pickup truck, identified as 19-year-old Kyle Cashmir of Brunswick, was in stable condition at a southeast Georgia hospital.

The Georgia State Patrol is investigating. No charges have been filed.
