Chattanooga police are investigating two separate shooting incidents, one life-threatening, that occurred Wednesday.

At about 2:38 p.m. police were dispatched to Memorial Hospital where Damieon Deshun Cummings, 37, had been dropped off suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Cummings, who is listed in critical condition, underwent surgery for the life-threatening injuries.

Police also responded to a shooting at 2309 Benton Ave. at about 1:19 p.m. Edward Jackson, 22, was discovered by detectives with a gunshot wound to his right hip. Jackson told authorities that he did not see who shot him, and was transported to a local hospital for the non-life threatening injury.
