The driver of a Toyota Camry fatally injured in a head-on collision Thursday in the 3300 block of Springplace Road has been identified as Kim Thompson, 53, of Cleveland.

The preliminary investigation indicates Thompson was traveling northbound when she crossed into the southbound lane and struck a Kia van driven by Christina Moore, 41, of Cleveland.

Moore sustained a leg injury and was treated at SkyRidge Medical Center.

The Traffic Unit of the Bradley County Sheriff's Office is continuing the investigation.

Thompson is the first traffic fatality of 2014 in Bradley County.
