A Chattanooga boy was injured when he was accidentally shot by his friend Sunday afternoon, according to Chattanooga police.
The incident happened at 4806 13th Ave., police said. The boy and his friend were handling a loaded, small-caliber revolver about 1:45 p.m. when the friend pulled the trigger.
A bullet struck the victim in the back of the head. His mother took him to the hospital and his wound is not thought to be life-threatening, according to a news release.
The investigation is ongoing.
