Semi wrecks, spills frozen chicken onto metro Atlanta interstate ramp

DECATUR, Ga. - Workers were trying to clean up thousands of pounds of frozen chicken after the meat spilled from a semitrailer, leading to traffic tie-ups on a metro Atlanta interstate.

Authorities say the truck wrecked about 3 a.m. today on the ramp from Interstate 285 southbound to I-20 eastbound.

WSB-TV reports that crews were using heavy equipment to try and clean up the semi's load of 38,000 pounds of frozen chicken, much of which spilled onto the shoulder of the ramp.

Crews were able upright the truck and reopen the ramp by 6 a.m., but were still working to clear the spilled chicken.
