According to police, a preliminary investigation shows that a teacher at A.B. Hill Elementary locked the kindergarten student in a closet on Tuesday.

Police said the child was not harmed and the teacher was not at the school when police arrived. The child has not been identified by authorities.

Police and school officials are investigating. No charges had been filed as of Wednesday afternoon.
