Online video visitation approved for Hamilton County Jail inmates

Hamilton County Commissioners today approved a resolution that will allow residents to visit inmates at the jail via the internet.

The Hamilton County Sheriff's Department will be able to contract with a company called EdgeAccess, which will install and operate computer terminals in the jail for inmates to use.

Online visitation will cost residents $.60 per minute — so $18 for a full 30-minute visit with an inmate — but visitation at the jail will still be available for free.
