UGA police probing death of student found in dorm

ATHENS, Ga. - University of Georgia police say an autopsy has failed to determine the cause of death of a University of Georgia student who was found dead in his dorm room.

Authorities say 21-year-old David Peacock Braun of Marietta was found dead in his fifth-floor room in Vandiver Hall on Tuesday night. Police say there are no obvious signs of foul play. Police say a toxicology test will be performed, but added that results may not be available for 90 to 120 days or longer.

UGA Police Chief Jimmy Williamson says police were notified Tuesday evening after fellow students had concerns about his welfare and contacted UGA housing officials.

Police say nothing indicates that Braun's death was self-inflicted, or that other students should be concerned for their safety.
