Three musicians making their Chattanooga debuts will take the spotlight in the next String Theory concert.

Bridget Kibbey (harp), Kristin Lee (violin) and John Hadfield (percussion) will play tonight, Jan. 16, at the Hunter Museum, following a musical dialogue with the trio led by Gloria Chien, founder and artistic director of the chamber music series.

The program will feature composer Saint-Saens' "Fantaisie" for violin and harp, as well as Hadfield's "American Dervish" for solo percussion and Kibbey's arrangement of the Armenian "Traditional Dance" for solo harp, among other selections.

John Hadfield has developed unique ways of performing with multiple percussion instruments simultaneously. His compositions typically involve a wide range of sounds, from the most traditional, such as the drum set, to found objects, such as bicycle wheels. He has performed with multiple artists, ranging from Yo-Yo Ma to Deep Purple to the Saturday Night Live Band.

According to a New York Times review, Kibbey "makes it seem as thought her instrument had been waiting all its life to explode with the gorgeous colors and energetic figures she was getting from it." Her debut album, "Love Is Come Again," was named one of 2007's Top 10 releases by Time Out New York.
