The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga women had a strong defensive effort today, eventually pulling away from Furman in claiming a 62-44 Southern Conference victory at McKenzie Arena.
The win, which was coach Jim Foster's 799th of his career, was geared by a 10-1 second-half run which built a double-digit lead. The Mocs (16-3, 8-0) were led by Alex Black and Taylor Hall's 12 points apiece. Hall added 11 rebounds and seven assists.
Brittany Hodges led Furman (10-8, 4-3) with 17 points and seven rebounds. The Mocs host Samford Saturday at 4 for their first shot at Foster's 800th victory.
