JONESBORO, Ga. - Federal prosecutors say an ex-police officer has pleaded guilty to conspiring to deliver more than five kilograms of cocaine.

Authorities say Dwayne Penn used to work for the Clayton County Police Department in suburban Atlanta and was also assigned to the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force.

Prosecutors say Penn conspired with Atlanta drug dealer Adrian Austin to stage a fake traffic stop and arrest in late August. Officials say the person Penn and Austin conspired with to arrange the fake traffic stop was actually a federal informant who recorded all of their meetings.

Prosecutors say Austin has already pleaded guilty in the case, and both have agreed to a 10-year prison term followed by five years of supervised release.

Officials say Penn is scheduled to be sentenced Feb. 21.
